WEDDING FAQS
Q: What are your business hours?
A: I am available Tuesday through Friday from 10 – 5, and on Sundays from 10 – 4.
Q: What is the best way to contact you?
A: I can be contacted through phone or text at (505) 399-9333, or by email at jen@jenniferlyn.com
Q: Where is your studio located?
A: The studio is located at 105 4th Street NW Albuquerque, NM 87102 at the Downtown Contemporary Gallery. I am not usually there during business hours though, so it is best to contact me through email or phone.
Q: When is the final payment due?
A: The final payment is due 7 days before the wedding takes place.
Q: When will we get together for the final consultation?
A: We’ll get together a week or two before the wedding to go over the whole day in detail. If you need help coming up with a timeline for the day, don’t hesitate to call me.
Q: How long do I have to wait to see my images?
A: Your wedding gallery will be ready about 8 – 12 weeks after your wedding day. I do my best to turn images around quickly, but during the busy fall season everything takes longer. I usually post a few sneak peeks online within 7 days, unless we have previously discussed submitting your wedding or privacy issues.
Q: How many images do I get?
A: Weddings will have over 300 images and depend on the amount of coverage. Throughout the day, we shoot many images at multiple angels to ensure we don’t miss a thing. And then it’s my job to sort through and figure out which are the best. I promise, we won’t leave anything out.
Q: Do you edit every photo?
A: I hand edit every single image so that everyone you see is the final result. This takes a little longer, but I’m a bit of a perfectionist and want to make sure every photo is flawless. So if you wake up on your wedding day with a zit, it won’t be immortalized in your wedding album for generations.
Q: How will we receive our digital images?
A: Your images will be delivered to you through an online gallery, where you can download and share your images.
Q: Do you give a copyright release or a personal use release?
A: I give all my clients a personal use release, which gives you the ability to print your images, put them on your Instagram, and send them to friends and family. The only thing you can’t do is re-edit the photos, give a business permission to use them or submit them for publication. That is why I retain the copyright on all images. It allows me to protect your images from anyone using them illegally and without our permission.
Q: Will you publish our images?
A: I would love to share your images, although I understand that under certain circumstances you may want to keep your photos off the internet. I absolutely respect your privacy and will respect your wishes. Please let me know before we do any shooting if you wish your photos to be kept private.
Q: Who chooses the photographs in the album?
A: I will put together your album after I finish your gallery, and will choose the photos that I feel best represent the story of your wedding. I will then send it to you for proofing and you have 48 hours to swap out any photos you wish. It is easier to start with a layout and make your changes than to have to figure out what you want from a blank canvas.
Q: How long does it take to receive our album and products?
A: I will order your album immediately after getting your final approval and they can take anywhere from 2 – 4 months. I promise handmade albums are worth the wait, though. Framed prints take anywhere from 2-4 weeks.
Q: How long do wedding portraits take?
A: Wedding portraits typically take an hour to an hour and a half, depending on how much we were able to shoot prior to the ceremony. I prefer to leave a little extra room in case the ceremony runs behind, or if we have to send a search party for Grandma Betty.
Q: What time should we schedule the wedding portraits?
A: Because I am a natural light photographer, I like to time things so that we start shooting portraits an hour and a half before sunset. This way, we end with photos of the two of you right as the sun is going down and the lighting is perfect.

Q: What happens if we are running late?
A: I work great under pressure! In the case that things start falling behind, I’ll work with your coordinator to get us caught up. This is one of the reasons I love Bridal Sessions; they give us a bit of insurance if we start running out of time.
Q: What happens if it rains?
A: In New Mexico it’s more likely that we’ll be working with the wind! If your wedding is being held outdoors, chances are you already have a backup plan. If not, I’ll contact your wedding coordinator or venue and come up with a great solution.
Q: Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
A: Absolutely. I prefer natural light and will shoot the majority of you wedding with it. When it just isn’t available, I have lights that I bring in.
Q: What happens if you become unavailable on the day of the wedding?
A: I will have to be in the hospital, or worse, to miss your wedding. In the case that something horrible happens, I feel comfortable with my second shooter taking over and will also call in an experienced colleague to help out.
Q: Do you require breaks or a meal?
A: We’ll plan your day so that we don’t have any moments with nothing going on. I like to be working the entire time I am there. If we do end up with a lull and the only person that has been dancing for twenty minutes is Uncle Earl, we might head to a corner to quietly regroup. We always appreciate a meal, but usually eat it on the run and we come prepared with snacks.
Q: What is custom photography?
A: Custom photography is built around YOU and your family. Instead of shooting the same backgrounds and poses over and over, every session is designed around what you imagine and love, from the location to the styling. And I’m here to help you every step of the way. Do you two love camping? I can meet you up in the mountains for a few hours and we can shoot roasting smores by the campfire. Are you more urban? We can meet at the Albuquerque Museum and wander through old town. Do you imagine your engagement photos with the fall leaves from the bosque, or the spring blossoms at the Botanical Gardens? And speaking of fall, the balloon fiesta is one of my favorite events to shoot. The sky is the limit.
Custom photography also goes beyond your shoot. I understand being busy, and your session is custom tailored to fit your needs. I’ll help you design your wall gallery to fit the perfect space in your house and I’ll even help you hang it. We’ll design save the date cards and announcements that your friends and family will keep for years. I can create gifts for Grandparents, your partner, or your best friend, and wrap them, so your only job is signing the gift tag. Custom portraiture goes beyond just shooting; it’s an experience that you’ll cherish for years.
