Lifestyle Studio Policies and Frequently Asked Questions.

A: I am available Tuesday through Friday from 10 – 5, and on Sundays from 10 – 4.
Q: What is the best way to contact you?
A: I can be contacted through phone or text at (505) 399-9333, or by email at jen@jenniferlyn.com
Q: Where is your studio located?
A: The studio is located at 105 4th Street NW Albuquerque, NM 87102 at the Downtown Contemporary Gallery. I am not usually there during business hours though, so it is best to contact me through email or phone.
Q: What is included in our session fee?
A: Your session fee includes your one-hour on-location shoot, approximately 30 8x10 digital images, fully edited and a print release. It also includes all the planning we do leading up to your session and all the fun we have after, preparing your images to hang in your home.
Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
A: I accept cash, credit cards, and personal check. A $50 fee will be added to orders where the check doesn’t clear. Tax will be added to all orders. Payment plans are available for weddings and portrait product orders.
Q: When is our session fee due?
A: $250 is due to book your session. The remaining $250+tax is due 7 days before your shoot.
Q: When is our payment for products due?
A: Full payment is due at time your order is placed and due to the unique nature of custom portraiture, all sales are final. Payment plans are available for weddings and portrait product orders.
Q: What is custom photography?
A: Custom photography is built around YOU and your family. Instead of shooting the same backgrounds and poses over and over, every session is designed around what you imagine and love, from the location to the styling. And I’m here to help you every step of the way. Does your family love camping? I can meet you up in the mountains for a few hours and we can shoot roasting smores by the campfire. Are you more urban? We can meet at the Albuquerque Museum and wander through old town. Do you imagine your images with the fall leaves from the bosque, or the spring blossoms at the Botanical Gardens? And speaking of fall, the balloon fiesta is one of my favorite events to shoot. The sky is the limit.
Custom photography also goes beyond your shoot. I understand being a busy mom, and your session is custom tailored to fit your needs. I’ll help you design your wall gallery to fit the perfect space in your house and I’ll even help you hang it. We’ll design holiday cards and birth announcements that your friends and family will keep for years. I can create gifts for Grandparents, your partner, or you best friend, and wrap them so you’re only job is signing the gift tag. Custom portraiture goes beyond just shooting, it’s an experience that you’ll cherish for years.
Q: What do you shoot?
A: I specialize in female portraiture, and love capturing all those special moments for her. Many of my clients have been with me through their senior photos, to their wedding, and now their maternity and newborn sessions. I shoot glamour, boudoir, children, families, and a very very limited amount of weddings.
Q: Do you offer gift cards?
A: Absolutely! Except, I like to take them one step further and create something more than just a card for you to give. It’s more fun that way.
Q: What time of day do you shoot?
A: I shoot an hour before sunset, and even into sunset. I don’t book multiple shoots a day because the lighting is only perfect once a day, and my clients deserve nothing but the best.
Q: How long do I have to wait to see my images?
A: Your gallery will be ready about two weeks after your portrait session.
Q: What is the Model Release?
A: The model release gives me permission to use your photos on my website, social media pages, marketing materials, or to submit your session for publication. If you have a problem with this for any reason, please let me know prior to shooting so we can amend the contract. I take my clients privacy very seriously, and have no problem keeping your photos between us.
Q: Who is allowed at our shoot?
A: Please bring only the subjects that will be photographed to the session. This keeps the focus on you and your family, and keeps your child’s focus on me. Personal cameras and video are not allowed for the same reason.
Q: What if I need to reschedule?
A: In the event that you need to reschedule your session, please let me know as far in advance as possible. I completely understand that kids get sick and life happens, and will gladly reschedule your session at my next available opening. Likewise, I also reserve the right to reschedule due to illness, emergency, inclement weather, or other unforeseen events.
Q: What happens if it rains?
A: In New Mexico, its more likely that we’ll have to reschedule due to wind! If things are looking a bit hairy, I’ll contact you before your session and we’ll decide how to proceed. Usually we will reschedule as soon as possible.
Q: What if we are late?
A: Sessions will not be rescheduled if you are late. I will shoot what I can when you arrive, but will not be held liable for missing photographs.
Q: Who is allowed at our shoot?
A: Please bring only the subjects that will be photographed to the session. This keeps the focus on you and your family, and keeps your child’s focus on me.
Q: What is we want to shoot at a private location or the Bio Park?
A: Permits and usually fees are required to shoot on private property. I am more than happy to help you figure out what is required, but it is ultimately up to you to book the location. The Bio Park also closes 2-3 hours earlier than sunset in the summer, and the lighting isn’t ideal. If you must shoot at the Botanical Garden’s they will keep it open for a hefty fee, and I prefer not to shoot there unless we shoot closer to sunset. Trust me, you’ll be happier in the long run.
Q: Do you edit every photo?
A: Yup! Every image you see is the final result. No one wants to get photos back with a zit in every one! If there is something else you would like edited out (scars, stretch marks, etc) please let me know ahead of time.
Q: Can we print our images?
A: Unless you purchase full-resolution files, you can print all your images up to an 8x10. I recommend MPix to all my clients, as they seem to do the best job at correctly printing images.
Q: Can we edit our photos?
A: Absolutely not. Photography is a form of art and, it is not only illegal to edit your images, but disrespectful.
Q: Do you offer makeup or styling?
A: Of course! I have an amazing team of makeup artist and stylists. When you book your session you’ll have access to my preferred vendors who can make sure you are completely ready for your session.
Every glamour or boudoir session comes with hair and makeup. The entire experience is built around pampering you, and my makeup artists do just that.
Q: Do you offer discounts or mini sessions?
A: I offer a 10% discount to members of our military, police, and firefighters. I can’t thank you enough for all you do for our community. I also offer a discount for referrals that book.
Twice a year I will host mini sessions, usually in the spring. These are offered to my newsletter clients first and book up immediately. You can sign up for my newsletter on the contact page. I also do boudoir parties for groups of 3 or more. These are an absolute blast and are perfect for bachelorette parties or girls day out.
